The illegal acts against the Venezuelan ambassador to the African Union Alex Saab, worry international organizations as a result of these facts, the international committee Free Alex Saab, has initiated a campaign to collect signatures for his prompt release.
Since the creation of the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP) in 2016; a campaign to discredit Alex Saab, and the program was initiated by the US; which was labeled as unconstitutional.
A political persecution by the US, which led to his illegal detention in the African country Cape Verde, last June.
It is important to point out that it has been more than 340 days since Alex Saab was kidnapped in Cape Verde, without respecting his diplomatic immunity and all his rights under international conventions.

The Free Alex Saab International Committee has launched a campaign to collect signatures and send simultaneous direct emails; to the authorities of the United States and Cape Verde.
“Alex Saab is a legally appointed diplomat of the African Union. Arresting and detaining a diplomat for any reason is a violation of international law and an insult to the African Union.
We call on President Biden to withdraw the demand to extradite Alex Saab to the United States.
This is clearly a violation of international law. We call on the Prime Minister and the President of Cape Verde to immediately deliver Saab to Venezuela for medical treatment.” Part of the allegations that will be sent to the U.S. and Cape Verdean authorities.
The most important thing is that thousands of people have already signed, and given their support to this great international campaign; known as Free Alex Saab.
Some of the personalities demanding the release of Alex Saab in this campaign are Noam Chomsky, Vijay Prashad, Alfred de Zayas, Medea Benjamin, Max Blumenthal, Dan Kovalik, Steve Ellner, Ben Norton, Jose Pertierra.
On the other hand, it was learned that attorney Raúl Zaffaroni signed a petition requesting the release of Alex Saab, Venezuela’s diplomat to the world; and to proceed to his economic reparation.
The document signed by Zaffaroni is called “Manifesto in favor of the fulfillment of human rights obligations”.
In the document, he also orders “to close the extradition process initiated by the United States and to proceed to its economic reparation”.
