Support was felt this Tuesday in Petare for ambassador Alex Saab, who has been illegally detained in Cape Verde since June 12, 2020.

The international community and the people of Venezuela have given great support to the Venezuelan ambassador, kidnapped in Cape Verde. Thus, Venezuela raised its voice; yesterday, on behalf of all Venezuelans, an activity was carried out in the community of Petare in support of the ambassador Alex Saab.

This action was carried out, after learning that the government of Cape Verde denied entry to the doctor of Special Ambassador Alex Saab; this being a flagrant representation of the violation of the human rights of the ambassador , as well as a risk to his life, given his health problems.

It is worth mentioning that the ambassador has been kidnapped for more than 390 days on the small African island, Isla de La Sal, Cape Verde, without respect for his diplomatic immunity and all his rights under international conventions.

Support in Petare

Yesterday, Tuesday, July 6, a community activity in support of the Venezuelan ambassador Alex Nain Saab Moran took place in Barrio Petare, Miranda State.

The activity was attended by community leaders and spokespersons, who raised their voices in protest against the injustice that the Venezuelan Special Ambassador Alex Saab is experiencing while in the African country since his illegal detention on June 12, 2020.

In addition, a day of collection of signatures in his support was held; with the intention that the international community observed closely all the support in Petare, giving voice to all Venezuelans; and also observe the claim of Venezuelans to realize his early release.

Diplomat Alex Saab and his release

The release of Venezuelan Ambassador Alex Saab, has been postponed according to the latest information issued by his lawyer, Femi Falana.

“Cape Verde is under enormous pressure from the US, that is why Mr. Saab is being persecuted. I don’t know if the US made a payment, I don’t know if there was a payment but there are political pressures”, expressed Falana, defense lawyer.

Let’s remember that Cape Verde is currently in contempt of ECOWAS, after it granted him full freedom; and also ordered to compensate the damages caused against the ambassador and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
