The magistrates of the Constitutional Court of Cape Verde rejected the request for clarification made by Alex Saab’s defense of the decision authorizing the extradition of the Colombian businessman to the United States, which is claiming him for money laundering.

He added that Saab’s defense has no resources left to appeal the final decision and that now the administrative process of the extradition must begin.

In spite of this, he emphasized, the lawyers of the ambassador Alex Saab will try to gain more days, but this will not have any kind of influence.

Last Tuesday, September 7, the Constitutional Court of Cape Verde confirmed the constitutionality of the process followed against the Colombian businessman.

Alex Saab, dismissing the appeal filed by the defense of the alleged front man of Nicolás Maduro and reconfirmed the decision previously adopted by the Justice to extradite him to the United States where he would be tried for money laundering, among other crimes.

For his part, Elliot Abrams, representative of the administration of the former President of the United States, Donald Trump, for Venezuela, considered that very soon the justice system of his country will have Saab in its hands.

“I think we will have Saab pretty soon. It’s almost unbelievable to me. I think we are getting to the end”, expressed the American during an interview offered to the Colombian international channel NTN24.
